Terms of Service for Poeaxtry_ on Substack
(Effective: July 26th 2025)
Welcome to Poeaxtry_, including all content and initiatives under Poeaxtry’s Poetry Prism & Poeaxtry’s People. Protecting. Protesting. Persisting. And any new branches under Poeaxtry_ to come. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our Substack publications and related services (“Service”).
By accessing or using our Substack or submitting content, you agree to these Terms.
1. Scope of the Platform
Poeaxtry_ uses Substack to publish original content including, but not limited to:
Poetry, prose, and journal entries
Visual art and photography
Zines and collaborative collections
Community calls for submissions or contributor opportunities
Audio, video, and interactive content (e.g., Spotify playlists, password-protected extras)
Poeaxtry_ content may also reference or link to other platforms such as WordPress, Payhip, Gumroad, Etsy, Instagram, and more. These Terms apply only to Substack-hosted content. Use of those external sites is governed by their respective policies.
2. User Conduct
You agree not to:
Reproduce, repost, or distribute paid or exclusive content without permission.
Submit hate speech, discriminatory content, or plagiarism.
Harass the Poeaxtry_ team, contributors, or community members.
Use Poeaxtry_ for illegal or exploitative activities.
You may:
Share public posts with proper credit.
Comment respectfully and constructively.
Submit work under an alias, anonymously, or opt out of having your name published (per contributor policy).
3. Contributor Submissions
By submitting work for publication, you:
Retain full copyright of your original content.
Grant Poeaxtry_ a non-exclusive license to publish, promote, and archive the content.
Understand that if included in a zine or digital product, your submission may be made available for free or low-cost distribution unless otherwise agreed.
Attest to your age being that of legal standing in the Country where the number is highest (if other than 18). If not legal age, you will not submit until legal age has been reached.
Poeaxtry_ does not sell contributor work for profit unless previously disclosed and approved. If revenue is involved, all terms will be offered upfront and in writing. (Solo Poeaxtry_ Personal Collections not included!)
You are welcome to:
Ask for your work to be removed from editions BEFORE Digital Publication!
Repost your own content elsewhere.
Retain the rights to your work!
4. Privacy and Communication
Poeaxtry_ will never sell your personal information.
If you subscribe to our Substack, your email is stored only for post delivery and community updates.
Your submissions or replies may be shared as testimonials or community highlights with credit (unless you request anonymity, or state not to share your work in spotlights or promo etc)
You can unsubscribe or request data deletion at any time.
5. Interactive & Exclusive Content
Certain features may involve:
Spotify playlists linked to published zines
Password-protected extras (audio, commentary, or bonus materials)
Zine unlocks through hidden puzzle elements
You agree not to share unlock passwords or materials with those who have not accessed them properly (e.g., via subscription, zine purchase, or contributor access).
6. Content Disclaimer
Poeaxtry_ includes themes of:
Grief, healing, mental health, LGBTQIA+ experiences, and trauma (to name a select few)
Nature, geology, and spiritual symbolism
Content is shared for creative, educational, and community-building purposes. It is not medical, legal, or professional advice.
Some works may be fictionalized, symbolic, or autobiographical. Respect the personal narratives and lived experiences of contributors.
7. Termination
You may stop using this service at any time. Poeaxtry_ reserves the right to remove users, revoke subscriptions, or delete comments that violate these Terms.
Contributors who repeatedly breach respectful engagement standards may be barred from future calls for submissions,
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. Any changes will be noted at the top (“Effective Date”) and apply to future use.
If the changes are significant, we will notify subscribers directly.
